Florida Wage and Hour Disputes Attorney

Are You Entitled to Additional Pay and Back Pay?
Unpaid Overtime and Other FLSA Claims in Florida

Thousands of workers in Florida are wrongly denied overtime pay, paid less than minimum wage, denied tips or commissions, and otherwise deprived of entitled compensation. Whether intentional or by mistake, these are violations of federal and state labor laws.

The attorneys of Feldman Morgado, P.A., advocate for workers across the state of Florida in wage and hour claims. We represent employees who have been misinformed, misclassified or flatly cheated out of the pay they deserve. Our legal team has recovered substantial back pay and penalties on behalf of individuals and groups of employees.

Florida Wage and Hour Disputes Lawyer

The federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and similar laws of Florida establish certain basic rights of employees, as well as a legal process to remedy violations of those rights. For example:

  • Florida's minimum wage is $7.67 in 2012.
  • Tipped employees must be paid at least $4.23 per hour, and cannot earn less than minimum wage between wages and tips.
  • Employees are entitled to overtime pay for any hours beyond 40 hours in a week.

Certain employers are exempt from paying minimum wage or overtime. Certain employees are classified as exempt from overtime. However, many salaried workers and independent contractors who are denied overtime are misclassified and may in fact have claims for thousands of dollars in unpaid compensation.

If you have a claim for unpaid overtime, you may be entitled to actual back pay, an equal amount as liquidated damages, plus attorney's fees. Read more:
