Serious Product Liability Lawsuits Now Replace Consumer Trust

Johnson & Johnson, a company once respected as a manufacturer of quality baby and personal care products, now faces serious quality issues within many of its product lines due to issues with certain pharmaceutical products. J&J just announced upcoming reformulations of baby and personal care products to remove formaldehyde and other toxic substances by the year 2015.

According to Bloomberg.com, the most recent lawsuit pertaining to the antipsychotic drug Risperdal, claimed to cause boys to grow breasts, went to court on September 10, 2012 and settled on the first day of trial. But this lawsuit is only one of about 420 upcoming cases pertaining to Risperdal. And the company faces lawsuits for many other products. In an August 2012 court decision, one woman received an award of $5.5 million for her injuries from defective transvaginal mesh products now known to cause serious injuries to women.

Hip and knee implants represent another product line under scrutiny. Since acquiring the commercial orthopedics company DePuy in 1998, Johnson & Johnson faced recalls by the U.S. and British governments in 2001, 2008 and 2009.

Whether you suffer side effects or other health issues from the use of Johnson & Johnson products, or if you believe any product caused you injury or illness, you need to seek advice from an experienced product liability lawyer who can help protect your rights to compensation.
